My Workout/Weightloss Plan
My
weight has been a constant struggle. It is one thing that makes me extremely
insecure. And my fear of not being good enough has kept me from really trying
to lose weight. I have been afraid that I would not be successful in losing
weight. But I have to do it for me. Since it is the feature I am most insecure
about, I want to start working on it immediately. So I created a diet plan that
will fit me and my daily schedule.
Monday
through Friday I will drink a protein shake for breakfast and lunch. I will
monitor what I eat for dinner. I usually drink soda more than I should. So I am
going to start by switching to diet sodas and only drinking one regular soda a
week. I hope to eventually cut out the sodas completely except for special
occasions. On the weekends, I will eat three meals a day. I will monitor those
meals carefully and attempt to eat more meat and protein while limiting snacks.
This is
a very simple plan, however, I know it is one I can be successful with. Often
times, I have been told I have to give up everything I enjoy in order to lose
weight. No soda ever. No candy or snacks of any kind. No chips, pasta, breads
or carbs. I was even told that apples had too much natural sugar so I needed to
be careful eating them. While I understand the need to watch what I eat, I was
not (and still am not) willing to give up everything. When I was told I had to
give it all up, I was immediately discouraged. But I have found a way to make
it work for me.
Snacking
is a habit a lot of people have. I know I snack. So one thing I have done is
find some healthier alternatives. For starters, I allow myself to have sweets,
but only a small amount and it is NOT an everyday thing. One candy I really
enjoy is Trolli gummy worms. While browsing the isles at Sam’s, I found a box
of gummy worms that have them packaged in one hundred calorie packs. So even
when I eat this sweet, I only eat one hundred calories and I won’t overdo it. I
also purchased a bag of dark chocolate chips and a bag of banana chips. I use
the serving size of each to make a snack. This is one snack that isn’t as bad
as other things I could snack on.
I will
also be increasing the amount of water I drink each day. This will help me eat
less as well as keep me hydrated for the workout challenge I will be taking on.
I am also hoping that by drinking more water, I will begin to crave it more and
crave soda less. The more healthy habits I introduce and try, the better my
chances are at finding habits I actually enjoy which in turn will boost my
success.
Knowing my past experiences with workouts, I
know how easily I get discouraged. So for this challenge I looked up a variety
of thirty day challenges. I mixed them together and created one thirty day

difficult challenges for me, but when I finish it, I will be extremely proud of
myself. Along with my diary, I am going to keep a workout/weightloss diary. I will post updates two to three times a week.
